COME AS YOU ARE

Well we all know Nirvana's song "Come As You Are". The melodical melody is one for the ages. The crying out in Kurt Cobain's voice is a haunting reminder to "come as you are" that penetrates the heart. And my friend, that is exactly what you and I must do. No matter how grungy. No matter how dirty. No matter how filthy or disgusting you might feel. No matter how much you "sin". You and I must come. Come to the one who will hold us when we stink. Hold us when our clothes are as such dirty filthy rags. Hold us when no one else wants too. That's the Jesus we serve!

But can I be honest with you. I personally struggle with this simple concept. Because Satin has thrown everything but the kitchen sink at me sometimes. I have sinned no telling how many times, I've lost count. That be the devil my friend. But you and I are human. God knows that. And it's okay because "God loves grungy people"!

So as you listen to the great Kurt Cobain's cry. Cry with him. And then cry to Jesus and let Him know, that you are coming as you are. With all the dirt and filth attached to your morbid body, heart, soul and mind. He will listen. He will cry with you. So please "come as you are". That is my prayer and longing for you and I!
